Fun Facts about Richmond: Qualifying for his eighth Wrangler National Finals Rodeo was a hard-fought battle after missing most of the 2022 season. He had a herniated disc that required surgery. That surgery happened after Houston in March which was his last rodeo of the year. He came back in December at the Chase Hawks Rough Stock Rodeo. The time away from competition gave him an opportunity to reflect on rodeo and a new desire to compete. It also gave him more time with his wife, Paige. When he found out that Paige was pregnant and due to deliver the baby in September, he knew he was going to adjust his rodeo schedule. He entered rodeos over Labor Day and headed home to wait for the arrival of baby boy Forrest. That happened on September 7, Richmond was able to compete at
the Washington State Fair Rodeo and the Governor’s Cup and through it all remained inside the top 15.
