Last year, Jessy Davis was on the bubble for his seventh Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) qualification.

When the season ended on Oct. 1, 2015, he was in the crying hole at 16th. This year he once again found himself in the unenviable position of being on the bubble. When that crucial data, Oct. 1, 2016, rolled around he was safely inside the top 15. He finished the regular season in 14th place with $67,801 in earnings. He also leads the Montana Circuit and is on track to qualify for his sixth RAM National Circuit Finals.

That’s good for the family man who is originally from Utah. He fell in love and married a Montana native in 2013 and now resides near the small community of Power where Cassidy’s family ranches.

This year started out with a bang for the couple when Cassidy gave birth to twin girls on Jan. 30. Packing for 10 nights in Vegas with 10-month old Cru and Quincee in tow has a whole new set of requirements.

The last time Jessy was at the NFR, he tied for the win in round six. This year, with the whole family in tow, he is hoping to add to his buckle collection with all of his girls on hand to watch.

There is little doubt that the Montana faction will be making a lot of noise when Jessy nods his head. However, he learned a lot about bareback riding from the late Lewis Field and after growing up in Utah, he still has a lot of fans there. And, he went to college in Twin Falls, Idaho, where NFR general manager Shawn Davis was his coach. He will have a lot of fans in the Thomas and Mack Center.
