Fun Facts about Jake: He will be making his tenth consecutive trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and first with partner Clint Summers. Jake was competing at the Mike Cervi Jr. Memorial Classic last March when his horse and the steer got tangled up. The horse fell on his leg and broke his foot. The horse was fine and with some cowboy engineering he was still able to rope at Houston. He was in a similar situation in high school, and they used a tire inner tube for his stirrup. It worked again and he won $5,000. He roped most of the year with Clint Summers and with a $19,000 check from the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, they will rope together in Las Vegas. Now the challenge is for his wife, Tasha, and daughters, Haven and Haizlee, to plan their outfits and start packing.
